Section 02

Origin

01

No Place to Land

Eliot is an orphan with no stable job and no conventional home. He survives across Greyhaven's roofs, treating the city as shelter, playground, and escape route. He has built an identity around needing nobody before anybody can leave him again.

02

The Unrevealed Change

The source of Eliot's altered physiology remains sealed in the Audax archive.

03

The Reluctant Leap

Ribbit rarely behaves like the person Greyhaven would choose as its hero. He would rather eat, dance, sleep, and keep moving than accept a duty to strangers. Yet when distress reaches him, he still turns toward it. His heroism is not polished or noble. It is the choice he keeps pretending he did not make.

Section 03

Powers

Ribbit jumps and redirects through physical contact with the world around him. He does not fly.

  • Kinetic JumpingEliot's altered tendons compress and release extraordinary force, producing huge controlled leaps and rapid secondary launches.More ↓

CostA leap commits him to a ballistic trajectory until he reaches another usable surface.

VisualOne lime arc and a compressed impact ring at the launch point.

  • Kinetic Energy StorageHis body absorbs part of the force from impacts and can redirect it into the next jump, strike, or escape.More ↓

CostThe energy comes from real impact and movement. Standing still generates nothing.

VisualForce travelling inward at impact and outward during release.

  • Wall Grip and TraversalEnhanced finger and toe grip lets him cling briefly, run a few steps across a wall, vault obstacles, and create new launch points.More ↓

CostThis is physical contact and momentum, not adhesion without effort.

  • Enhanced Night VisionHis eyes adapt to Greyhaven's darker routes and low light rooftops.More ↓

    VisualSubtle clarity and eye reflection.

  • Enhanced DurabilityHis body survives collisions and landings that would destroy an ordinary human.More ↓

CostImpacts still compress, disorient, and physically affect him.

  • Suit Assisted Controlled DescentFabric membranes in his suit can catch air when his arms are deliberately spread, reducing or redirecting a fall.More ↓

CostIt is controlled descent, never hovering or powered flight.

How the movement fails

  • Every leap is committed the moment it starts; there is no mid air correction without a surface.
  • Stored force has to come from somewhere, and it runs out.
  • Descent membranes slow a fall. They never carry him upward.

Section 04

Struggles

Outside

The Battle Outside

Greyhaven demands commitment from someone whose entire survival strategy is movement. Saving people often means sacrificing the safest landing, the easiest escape, or the food and comfort he has managed to find.

Inside

The Battle Inside

Eliot wants freedom without attachment and competence without responsibility. His jokes, selfish choices, and impulsiveness keep people far enough away that he never has to admit how badly abandonment shaped him. His arc is not becoming solemn. It is learning that caring about people does not have to erase who he is.
